This past weekend, we went to our friends’ house for dinner.
When we host friends, Alex usually makes burgers or pasta bolognese. But our friend Kavi is a vegetarian, so she and her husband David made a spread of the most delicious summer salads.
From top: pan con tomate, boiled potatoes, caprese salad, beans, corn salad, and a frittata with goat cheese and herbs. How gorgeous is that?
They said the cooking was easy and quick, and the kids loved everything, too.
Now I’m inspired to make more salads, for both our family and guests! Do you have any you love? Also, I remembered Mark Bittman’s list of 101 simple salads — my sister’s grilled cheese salad came from there. xo
